In Tender Times (Look for me)  is the result of a commissioning process I thoroughly enjoyed.  The client, a dear friend, gave me only the lightest guidance ( I do insist on some - even if it's only selecting work you like or don't like from my website) and a load of free rein. 

The timeline was loose and, honestly,  SO much happened during the process; my folks died, my friend became pregnant and had the most wonderful baby. There was turbulence and terrific times. Happy and sad tears. The usual snake and ladders of life.

Making 'Tender Times' was a balm - the whole collection seemed to take forever. Finding pace and place  (and peace!) when you feel the whole world as you knew it has altered (and the legs have been cut from under you!) - well, that's a process that takes as long as it takes. 

I painted Tender Times differently - the whole collection feels like a new way of  working. It is deeper work - and more sensitive work in light of the times we live in - but ultimately it is hopeful work. I am looking to nature and the landscape more than ever - and finding resolve and comfort there.
