Tender Times
Tender Times brings together paintings from the past two years.
I've been less sure-footed this past year having endured my own season of grief. It's a challenge to put words on this collection - so thank heavens for Mary Oliver.
I've long been a fan of Mary Oliver. I've found her poem Wild Geese to be a brilliant balm and often a steadying source. Recently, I've woken with the words in my mind.
In a world much changed (gone crazy!), these paintings were a comfort to make. Timely reminders of how the natural world offers itself to our imagination. As Mary says 'Announcing your place in the family of things' .
Ultimately this is a hopeful collection dedicated to the magical memory of so many who, following long, glorious lives have now passed.
I really don't know where my parents, my lovely Aunt Marie, darling Granny Anne or indeed our beloved Rosie Dog have gone. But, in these tender times, the reassurance is that 'the world still offers itself to you imagination'. I have resolved to look for their goodness and essence in the world.
I hope these paintings are a source of comfort and contentment to you too.

As usual there a few resources to enjoy alongside this collection. I've compiled a Tender Times playlist - a selection of songs I listened to while making this latest collection. I hope you enjoy listening.
See Mary Oliver recite Wild Geese HERE.
