WORKSHOP FAQ’s
NO! My Level 1 Abstracting the Landscape Weekend Workshops are open to absolute beginners and those with a little or a lot of painting experience – the only thing you really need for these classes are an open mind and a willingness to have fun while painting.
My Level 2 – 3-Day Painting Workshops have been designed specifically for people who have already taken a workshop of mine. So they’re a great ‘follow-on’ for folks who enjoyed the level 1 workshops.
Oh YES, and how! I believe in good materials and generosity – you shouldn’t ‘scrimp’ on yourself, so I won’t either! Paints, inks, (great quality) canvasses and anything else you might need are provided. All you need to bring is you! In Level 1 Workshops – for speed and quick drying we work with acrylic paints and use a glazing medium to mimic the quality of oils.
For Level 2 Workshops, I recap on our previous class before introducing oil paints and cold wax mediums.
See above! I do ask participants to bring items that are inspiring to them – this might be a photo, a shell or a piece of cotton! I will be in touch with you about this before your workshop – so you have nothing to worry about!
A great yummy, healthy lunch is provided on Day 1 of your workshop. Participants bring their own packed lunch on Day 2, for ease – as you’ll be busy! There will be lots and lots of food, fruit, snacks and tea, coffee and all manner of unlimited refreshments throughout the workshop. There are treats too – but not really bad ones! I’ll be in touch before the workshop about any dietary and / or medical requirements you might have and where possible I’m happy to cater to them.
There is! If you would like to join a workshop that is ‘sold out’ please email me to cora@coramurphy.com to join. I must advise though, cancellations are very rare.
In the rare event you do need to cancel your workshop booking, my policy is as follows:
Cancellation up to 4 weeks before – 100% refund
Cancellation 2 week before – 50% refund
Fee is non refundable if cancellation is made 1 week or less to the workshop. However, I am happy to offer a full refund if I can fill the place and I will make every effort to find a replacement participant.
In the event, I need to cancel any workshop I will make every effort to reschedule as soon as possible.
Once you confirm purchase of your place on a workshop, you will receive an automatic email confirming your purchase.
If you don’t receive confirmation within 15 mins of purchase, please check your SPAM folder. Adding my email address: cora@coramurphy.com to your email address book should ensure my emails reach you.
I will be in touch a week in advance of your workshop with details regarding the workshop format, what to expect, what to bring etc. At that point, I will also be checking in with you regarding any specific dietary or other requirements you might have.
I will also confirm the workshop venue and location, advising you about parking and public transportation links. If you have any queries, at any time – please do email me to: cora@coramurphy.com or call me on 087 327 5131.
Thank you so much for your interest in my workshops.
